Timea Megyesi was born in Budapest in 1985 and she has been playing the oboe since she was 10 years old. She studied in Budapest at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, she had the opportunity to spend a year abroad at the Conservatoire in Paris with Erasmus scholarship and she finished her master studies at the University of Music in Cologne. She has won prizes in national and international competitions as well as in the Aeolus Wind Competition, where she also won the Audience Prize, in Düsseldorf and in the Richard Lauschmann Oboe Competition in Mannheim.
She played in various orchestras, as well as in the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken, the SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart and she plays since 2015 at the position of deputy solo oboe with obligation to the English horn at the Tyrolean State Theater in Innsbruck.
She participates in various productions since 2014 with the Orchestra of Cultures under the direction of Adrian Werum.
