Bouye is a sap made from the flowers of the baobab tree. Its health-promoting effect is accompanied by a creamy consistency and a refreshing and filling effect.
Baobab fruit keeps indefinitely, because it has such little water content. In fact, you can eat the raw fruit like candy, but you might find it somewhat sour.
The properties of this healing juice are known locally to be very good for bad stomachs, especially very acidic stomaches after you’ve had food poisoning for a little bit of time. The juice is also very high in calcium so a good thing to drink regularly if osteoporosis runs in your family.
Homemade Baobab Fruit Juice
2 cups baobab fruit OR 1 cup baobab fruit powder
1 liter filtered water (or, as some people like to, milk)
Sugar to taste
We prefer mixing 2/3 water and 1/3 milk
