MUSICIENS

Lucy Zhao-pipa
“The music is a bridge through which people from different cultures are immediately connected and at the same time understand each other without speaking to each other. With the Orchestra of Cultures you can hear and feel exactly this exciting music, which everyone will like, regardless of age, gender, origin, education or other differences between people."-Lucy Zhao, Pipa

Chiao Hua Chang - Erhu
“An encounter between people becomes particularly valuable when their hearts begin to shine as a result. Life comes and goes, but what I particularly appreciate is meeting people and things that amaze me. I am very pleased and honored to be part of this great orchestra that produces such unpredictable and exciting orchestral sounds.” Chiao Hua Chang, Erhu

Frank Heinkel - Didgeridoo
“In the Orchestra of Cultures, exotic instruments can develop naturally with the necessary freedom. These very unique sound characters always find new harmony in the orchestra. It shows sustainably how the universal language of music can transcend all cultural differences. And that is touching.” Frank Heinkel, didgeridoo & overtone singing

Kioomars Musayyebi - Santur
“My presence and playing in the orchestra gave me the opportunity to share the culture I learned in my country with others here. In this respect, we can eliminate the barriers created by people and bring the different cultures closer. The message of the music is peace, joy and love.” Kioomars Musayyebi

Debora Vilchez - percussion
“The Orchestra of Cultures opened doors for me to get to know other people, cultures and styles of music. All of this has not only made me grow as a musician, but also as a person. Music is an important part of me that accompanies me and gives me a lot. When I play, I'm just incredibly grateful." -Debora Vilchez, cajon & vocals

Franz Tröster - Trompete
"It's a very special orchestra, in which you can find the sounds of a symphonic orchestra, but in combination with musical instruments from other cultures, which we rarely hear here. This creates unique sounds that create fascinating atmospheres and emotions, thanks to the great and unprecedented compositions and arrangements of our director Adrian Werum.”Franz Tröster, trumpet

Amanda Chominsky - Flöte
"I've been playing in the Orchestra of Cultures for over ten years - it's always so nice and exciting to be there. The orchestra has wonderful musicians from all over the world and has an incredibly positive energy. As a musician, I love and appreciate that we can convey the entire emotional spectrum to our listeners.”Amanda Chominsky, flute

Can Demirel - Baglama
"For me, music is freedom and the best medicine for the soul."— The musician Can, who was born in Stuttgart, has been familiar with Turkish folk music since childhood. In addition to Baglama, he also plays Davul in the orchestra and works closely with Adrian: “For me, the Orchestra of Cultures is a connection between many cultures and religions. It shows how music can bring people together through melodies.”-Can Demirel, Baglama

Kandara Diebate - Kora & Gesang
“For me, the music itself is the food or the water that we share, give and take. The Orchestra of Cultures is a very nice project because it is interesting for me and it enriches me to play with other colleagues and to hear and react to their sounds.”-Kandara Diebate, Kora & Vocals

Fabiola Gamarra - Violine
"Playing in the orchestra is an explosion of energy during the cultural journey lived between music and musicians."
Fabiola Gamarra Colina, violin

Liu Ge - Violine
“For myself, the music reflects the diversity of my inner image. This can be compared to rich colors, for example, green is hope, red is passion, and purple is profound. When I play the violin, I feel it and I want to bring this color world a little closer to every listener. The Orchestra of Cultures shows the diversity in exactly this way, which is why I look forward to every performance!”Liu Ge, violin
